Our Approach to Community Food Security
Making a Difference from Seed to Table
Source Food
With local grocers, community donations, and our own greenhouses, we gather wholesome food otherwise lost to the landfill.
Prepare Meals
Our chefs and volunteers transform these ingredients into nutritious meals. Anything we don’t use is shared with local farmers for animal feed or is composted.
Distribute to Those
in Need
We store and then distribute these meals and food items across a network of regional food banks, shelters, and community programs.
Empowering Agencies
Local food bank employees and case workers collect and distribute this food, directly impacting clients in need.

The Front Lines of Food Insecurity
“We are SOYA, which is a non profit corporation, and have been partners with Harvest Algoma for 3 years. Without the assistance of Harvest SOYA would not be able to assist the over 500 people a week that rely on SOYA. The staff at Harvest are amazing and some of the most compassionate people you can ever meet. SOYA looks forward to many more years of partnership with them.”
